How do I become a Messenger?
What is a messenger?
To be a messenger, you must first be a member of a Southern Baptist Church (SBC) in the state of Georgia A messenger is a person who can participate in the GBCD business meeting. This person can ask questions and vote during the business meeting.This person can also be chosen to be an officer for the next year if they meet the requirements explained in the GBCD Constitution and By-Laws.
(This person must be voted on by by their church to be a messenger.)
What is a member?
To be a member, you must first be a member of a Southern Baptist Church (SBC) in the state of Georgia. This person is not a messenger because he/she has not been elected by their church. This person can participate in all the activities and attend the business meeting,they cannot vote or discuss issues during the GBCD Business Meeting.
(This person cannot become a GBCD Officer for the next year.)
What is a visitor?
This person is not a member of a Southern Baptist Church (SBC) in Georgia. They can attend all GBCD activities , but they cannot vote or discuss issues during the GBCD Business Meeting. They cannot be chosen as a GBCD Officer.
Before you come …
- You must be a member of a Southern Baptist Church in Georgiato participate in the GBCD Business Meetings.
- During your church business meeting, they must vote for you to be a messenger to GBCD.
- When voted on, you will need to fill out the messenger card (form below)
- Have someone from your church (Pastor, Deacon, Church Secretary, etc.) sign the card.
