Religion 304: Old Testament Survey

This course will be an introduction and survey of the Old Testament focusing upon the history, literature and faith of the people of Israel.

Class Schedule

All classes meet at Annistown Road Baptist Church in Snellville, GA.  Classes meet from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  The dates for Fall 2012 classes are:  August 25, September 8, September 29, October 20, November 3 and final exam on December 8.

Refund Policy 

Deadline to drop (withdraw from) a course is September 8, 2012. You will be refunded ½ of the tuition. If you drop a course after September 8, 2012 you will receive no refund. Withdrawal must be made in writing and postmarked (dated) before September 8 (e-mail the Director at  Special consideration will be given for certain emergencies or medical situations. Do not hesitate to contact the TriState Director for more information.


Students wanting college credit need to check the correct box on the form. This means that the course they are taking counts toward a real college degree. They can often transfer the course to another college. [College affiliation pending]


Students who do not want college credit need to check the correct box on the form. This means that the course they are taking will not count towards a college degree. Audit student who wish to receive an official TriState Deaf School of Theology certificate (paper with course and professor’s signature printed on it) may do so if they follow the same attendance rules as credit students.


Credit students are allowed only 1 absence. Credit students cannot be absent on exam day. Audit students are allowed only 1 absence also if they wish to receive a certificate for the course. Audit students may miss more than one class but they will not receive a certificate if they do.

Dropping a Course

Audit students need to inform the director when dropping a course.  Since college affiliation is pending the process for credit students is also pending.


TriState does not coordinate lodging for the Snellville, Georgia campus. If a student needs lodging it is recommended that that the student find housing at a local hotel.

Financial Aid

Some financial aid is available for students in need. Please contact the Tri State Director. Georgia students can apply for a scholarship from the Wanda Fanshaw Fund of the GBCD.

3 Deaf Teenagers get Baptized at Annistown Road Baptist Church

Three Deaf Teenagers have been baptized at Annistown Road Baptist Church in Snellville, GA on February 26, 2012.

They are Kevaugh Tyndall, Cecilia Vega and Courtney Boyer.  Congratulations to the trio!

2012 Interpreter Training Program

March 9-10, 2012 – CAMP KALEO

“Interpreters on Ice”

Hetty Otto has ministered to and interpreted for deaf people in Southern Baptist Churches for over 47 years.  She is a founding member of the Interpreter Training Program Advisory Board sponsored by the North American Mission Board and has conducted interpreter training classes in many states. Hetty holds the Master of Religious Education degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and the Master of Arts in Counseling and Guidance degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida.

The Georgia Baptist Conference of the Deaf ITP will offer one course for all interested interpreters and Deaf leaders at Camp Kaleo near Forsyth, Georgia, on Friday, March 9 and Saturday, March 10, 2012. The course will begin on Friday afternoon. All those taking the ITP course are asked to arrive on Friday afternoon between 2:00-3:00 p.m. You will receive one (1) CEU for the full ten hours. The CEU will appear on your transcript through RID. Participants may obtain a certificate of completion of the course, for $7.00 per certificate. Please indicate your request on the registration Form.

The North American Mission Board is an Approved RID CMP Sponsor for Continuing Education Activities. This Professional program is offered for 1 CEU at the Intermediate Content Knowledge Level

Standard Registration is $75, which includes the Conference with Lodging at Camp Kaleo and all Meals (Please be sure to bring your own linens, since Camp Kaleo does NOT provide them.)

Commuter Registration is $65, which includes the Conference and Meals only. This does NOT include lodging.

Please note: If you are planning to stay at a hotel off Camp Kaleo property, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING YOUR OWN RESERVATIONS

Sorry…children cannot attend the classes. There is no childcare provided.

Refund/Cancellation Policy: 

1. A full refund will be issued for cancellations made 60 days before the ITP date.

2. A 50% refund will be issued for 59-30 days before the ITP date.

3. No refund will be issued for cancellations made less than 30 days before the ITP date.

Georgia Baptist Convention Annual Meeting Nov 13-15, 2011

You are invited to attend the GBC Annual Meeting is being held November 13-15, 2011 at the North Metro Baptist Church in Lawrenceville, Georgia (directions attached).  The schedule for the meeting is attached along with a map and the layout of the Worship Center showing the section that has been reserved for the deaf.  There will be interpreters during the whole meeting, so please come!
