CHR 320: Synoptic Gospels

This course is a comparative study of the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke in the New Testament. Particular attention is given to the exegesis of one of the Synoptic Gospels.

Class Schedule

All classes meet at Annistown Road Baptist Church in Snellville, GA.  Classes meet from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  The dates for Spring 2014 classes are: January 18, February 1, February 22, March 15, April 12 and final exam on May 10.

Refund Policy

Deadline to drop a course for a refund is February 1, 2014. You will be refunded ¬Ĺ of the tuition. If you drop a course after February 1, 2014 you will receive no refund. Withdrawal must be made in writing and postmarked (dated) before February 1¬†(e-mail the Director at dwiltshire@ncbaptist.org).¬† Special consideration will be given for certain emergencies or medical situations. Do not hesitate to contact the TriState Director for more information.

Credit

Students wanting college credit need to check the correct box on the form. This means that the course they are taking counts toward a real college degree. They can often transfer the course to another college. TriState Deaf School of Theology does not offer degrees.  Students seeking a college degree must work with Brewton-Parker College on a degree plan.  Talk to the TriState director for additional information.

Audit

Students who do not want college credit need to check the correct box on the form.  This means that the course they are taking will not count towards a college degree. Audit student who wish to receive an official TriState Deaf School of Theology certificate (paper with course and professor’s signature printed on it) may do so if they follow the same attendance rules and course requirement rules as credit students.

Attendance

Credit students are allowed only 1 absence. Credit students cannot be absent on exam day. Audit students are allowed only 1 absence also if they wish to receive a certificate for the course. Audit students may miss more than one class but they will not receive a certificate if they do.

Dropping a Course

To withdraw from a course you are taking for credit, you must contact the Registrar’s office of Brewton-Parker College at 912-583-5107.  Speak with Registrar, Sara Crowe, or one of her assistants.  They will lead you through the withdrawal process.  You will receive a Withdraw Passing (WP) or a Withdraw Failing (WF) as a final grade for the class. The deadline to WP is October 10, 2014 (this is a Brewton-Parker College policy)

Lodging

TriState does not coordinate lodging for the Snellville, Georgia campus.  If a student needs lodging it is recommended that that the student find housing at a local hotel .

Meals

 A Saturday noon meal is included in the tuition fee.

Financial Aid

Some financial aid is available for students in need. Please contact the Tri State Director.  Students who are members of Georgia Baptist Churches can apply for the Fanshaw Scholarship. www.gbcd.org.
